What’s more shocking than a 260–square–foot living? How in the world a small single room that looks like where pigeon used to live can boasts a home? Well, straight saying, the answer is fold-out panels.

Photographer Christian Schallert owned the place. He found and fell in love with the old flat in Barcelona with 360-degree rooftop view of the city. With his friend, architect Barbara Appolloni, he came up six month later with extremely unique design consists complete living space in one single room.
In that such small place, he has a bedroom, home office, kitchen, dining room, and bathroom at once. How come? Here is the special treat: he started with writing an exact list of all his belongings to put in the apartment. Then its Appoloni’s turn to figure out what kind of placement will be make it possible. The result, Schallert says, "It's almost like living in a big closet".
In the day, a simple open-plan spans in the room. A kitchen panel inserted into one side of the wall, with integrated electric stovetop, a sink, fridge and freezer, microwave and dishwasher.

In the corner of the room with glass panel, there’s a kind of bench with attached bookcase. At the mealtime, all the appliances can be pulled out off the wall, so does the hidden dining table next to the bench. The bench could be used to fit the casual dining niche, but option of vibrant red chairs gives additional seat.
When all done, everything is cleaned up and tucked away and that’s time to work with e-mails and photo editing. The dining table is back to the cave and across the kitchen, a shelf emerges as to put the laptop, and the two red dining chairs swap function. At the same time, the ‘bench’ can be pulled out and turn into cozy stylish bed!
While tiny glass-walled shower and sink opposing the bed, the toilet is the only thing hidden backside the shower room. Balcony behind the large glass window can be access for another dining space for two. The rooftop as first attractive site with view, furnished with daybed outdoor bathtub and another hidden storage contains washing machine! What an frenziedly shocking design.
